Our Story

How it all started...

In January of 1990, our founding pastor began a home Bible study with seven other believers in Kona. By June, the first EFCA church in Kona would hold its first service in the Kona Surf Resort. In 1992, a five acre of land was purchased.  In 1995, a prayer ministry was launced and outreach services began at Honokohau Boat Harbor.  Miraculously, our current property was gifted to our church, though it would take a while to b settled in our new church home. In 2003, we broke ground on the new property and construction began.  In the meantime , weekly Sunday services started in 2005 at Kealakehe Elementary School and fundraising for our new church facility began. By 2006, services began on-site at our current Palani Road location.

Expanding the vision...

Our vision is to grow more and more in our relationship with Jesus Christ and to live our lives with the conviction and firm belief that Jesus is our greatest treasure.  As we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, we press on to sharing the good news of Jesus with others within our sphere of influence and therefore, expanding the work of Christ in our world.

Where we are headed...

We are heading into a new phase in the history of our church and are moving in the direction of having all our members involved in a Grace Group. We desire to get more deeply into the Word personally and as a church family, growing together in the Lord.
